Break A Leg

Image
Wow. We are back. Winter is marching out, and we are marching in (again). Some of us have families of our/their own. Yet others of us collaborators are going it solo-style. No matter how the auditory ambiance was, or not was, filled with the laughter of children, or lit by candlelight while listening to Nat King Cole, or The Beach Boys while writing, recording or thinking about Turn this Tide, we are grateful for the holiday break, and excited to spring forward. Not necessarily into, or not into, daylight savings time. I digress(?).  Over this 'break,' wait, now that I'm writing about the 'break' I realize it wasn't really a break at all. So forget it. We are still here!  Let's talk Momentum. I know a previous post on this blog talked about Momentum but a conversation happened between myself and one of our collaborators about the recording I handed off to him. He is a visual artist, and filmmaker, and musician, plus. He is rolling along with his personal pro

2 Tides to Every Story

On the player below is part of the story for listening, before the other bits that will surely be musical. The breath of the wind and the ebb of the meantime. Get ready. Don't get me wrong, these recordings will shove this vessel off into the, well, the tide. But the color and translations (instrumentation) are on the way. Here we have the start. The first meeting. At first sight. Wade through. Exercise your sea-legs. Float, paddle, dive. Turn this Tide · Believer vocal [EP] Now, looking ahead...if today were tomorrow: Track listing of fate: Track one: From the Top (bloom where you are planted). A poem I wrote in like 2008 when I first started hanging out in NB when I moved back from art school. Track two: Contact (her pick-up line) was one of the early lyric sets from when, the little band that could, Mother and child were practicing. Like in 2010-ish. Track three: Palpitations (courting song). Also written in the Mother and child days that didn't really fit anywhere un

One of the names for this project is: Momentum. Still working on picking just one. But we will take the project's momentum for what it is so far. Process and progress!  6 collages so far have been made for our fundraiser, inspired by 12 inch vinyl records, and one has already been snatched up by the gravitational pull of one of our supporters with good taste in art and poetry and music.       Here is a dramatic moody pic of Good Vibrations:   Good Vibrations 12 x 12 inches paper collage 2021 We are grateful it found a home. We are on our way. In support of the Turn this Tide project, a proper donation sale will be organized soon once more collages are made. Please stay tuned!   We can't wait to share more with you, thanks for following the project!

Tell Me The Collage Part Again

Dramatic angle shot of two collages in the wip stage, but can we stop and say how beautiful a picture of grass cut into the shape of a circle is? I'm moved, moved to think that I may not actually have to go outside ever again. Needless to say...the collage portion of the project is underway!
